Job summary

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust in Otterbourne is hiring an Emergency Call Taker (Part-time) to be the first point of contact in crises. You will stay calm, show compassion, and guide callers through critical situations to ensure rapid, life-saving responses.

This on-site role requires you to work at the Emergency Operations Centre in Otterbourne, Hampshire, with training starting from January 2027 and a pro rata salary between £25,760 and £27,476 per year.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
• This role is based on-site and does not support remote working.

Responsibilities

• Calmly handle distressed callers and provide reassurance.
• Ask the right questions to assess emergencies and gather critical details.
• Coordinate emergency response and support callers through urgent situations.
