Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network in Wood, PA is seeking dedicated 911 Call Takers to be the first point of contact for emergency callers, asking focused questions, confirming locations, and documenting details for responders.

You will work on-site in a fast-paced center, following approved procedures, entering information into dispatch software, and forwarding incident details promptly to the appropriate teams during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Strong listening, accurate typing, and clear verbal communication.
• Assessments and requirements are set by the hiring agency.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and connected nonemergency lines.
• Verify incident location and caller information.
• Ask focused questions to determine urgency and nature of incidents.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Relay information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide guidance to callers using approved pre-arrival instructions when appropriate within training.
