Job summary

National Public Safety Careers is seeking qualified candidates to join Missouri’s emergency communications team as 911 Call Takers. You will listen to callers, verify locations, and gather critical information to support responders.

This role may require rotating shifts, nights and overtime. Training and certification are provided; prior dispatch or customer service experience is a plus, and strict privacy and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or public safety helpful.
• Strong listening, accurate typing, and clear communication.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and complete assessments.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls.
• Confirm incident locations and caller data.
• Use approved questions to identify urgency of the situation.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information to dispatch promptly.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only when trained.
