Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled EMC Engineer to join the ACE team, focusing on EMI/EMC testing, MIL-STD-461 compliance, and integration for aerospace systems. You will design test strategies, conduct rigorous measurements, and contribute to robust verification for safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Relocation is provided, travel up to 5% may be required; interviews include a technical assessment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • 5 years of hands-on EMC/EMI testing experience across MIL-STD-461 CE/CS/RE/RS methods.
  • In-depth MIL-STD-461G, DO-160G, MIL-B-5087, NASA-STD-4003, CISPR standards knowledge.
  • Proficiency with EMI test automation software, data acquisition, and spectral analysis.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and managing small teams on fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a responsible engineer for EMI/EMC test and verification, aligning with MIL-STD-461 requirements.
  • Author EMI/EMC documentation including test strategies and margin plans with traceability to MIL-STD-461.
  • Design, develop, and refine Test Plans and Test Procedures for EMI/EMC testing of avionics.
  • Lead execution of MIL-STD-461 tests (CE, CS, RE, RS) across multiple methods.
  • Operate and maintain EMI test equipment and ensure proper test setup and calibration.
  • Produce high-quality EMI/EMC test reports with spectra, margins, and pass/fail determinations.
  • Troubleshoot EMI issues and propose corrective actions.
