Job summary

RTX is seeking an Embedded Security Software Engineer II for Secure Product Assurance on-site at the Tucson, AZ campus. You will contribute across the software lifecycle, designing, coding, and testing real-time embedded software for radar, sensors, and fire control systems, with a focus on secure solutions.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in peer reviews, and support program objectives while ensuring compliance with DoD expectations and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from accredited institution; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object‑oriented programming language.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or similar.
• Real time embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
• Experience developing software in a team-based development environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions; investigate and troubleshoot issues to develop resolutions.
• Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration, dependent on program phase.
• Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software solutions with a focus on Secure Software Solution implementations.
• Participate in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision-making with multidisciplinary teams and customers.
• Support program execution to ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software development processes to maintain software product integrity.
• Work Location: Onsite at our Tucson, AZ Campus
• This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance; only U.S. citizens are eligible.
