Job summary

RTX is hiring an Embedded Security Software Engineer II for the Tucson, AZ site. You will join a team focused on secure real-time embedded software for radar, sensor, and fire-control systems, contributing across the full software lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on coding, debugging, and collaboration with program leadership and customers to deliver secure software solutions in a defense environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in STEM from an accredited institution.
• Experience with C/C++ or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience with Python, Perl or similar scripting languages.
• Real-time embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in a team-based development environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the SW development lifecycle including SW/HW integration.
• Derive system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software with Secure Software solutions.
• Participate in peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decisions with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support program execution to meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software processes to maintain product integrity.
