Job summary

Magellan Federal is seeking an embedded Military and Family Life Counselor - Adult to provide non-medical, short-term counseling and related services to military service members and their families at assigned units. The role emphasizes brief counseling, assessment, and referrals, while maintaining confidentiality and reporting accuracy through mobile or web tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work from an accredited program.
• Current unrestricted independent counseling license that allows practice as an independent practitioner.
• Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Must be able to engage with military members and families and comply with site-specific requirements and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling to service members and families at assigned locations.
• Enter counselor activity data daily to ensure accurate reporting while maintaining confidentiality.
• Build and maintain relations with unit commanders, POC, and installation leadership to align MFLC services with mission needs.
• Deliver trainings and health and wellness presentations as requested by the POC and unit leadership.
• Respond to critical incidents or surge requests as directed and flex schedule as needed.
• Participate in supervision, training, and program initiatives as directed by Magellan and customer.
