Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Military and Family Life Counselor - Adult Embedded to provide non-medical, short-term counseling and related support to service members and their families in assigned military units.

The role requires a Master’s in Behavioral Health, an independent license, and ability to travel on military installations. You will coordinate with Regional leadership, conduct trainings, document activities, and respond to critical incidents as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health or related field.
• Active, unrestricted counseling license in state/DC/territory.
• Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term counseling to service members and families.
• Enter counselor activity data daily.
• Develop effective working relationships with installation POC and command.
• Deliver training and health and wellness presentations.
• Respond to critical incidents as directed; adjust schedule as needed.
• Manage confidential information and adhere to DoD protocols.
