Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Military Embedded Adult Counselor to provide non-medical, short-term MFLC counseling within a dedicated military unit. The role includes brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up, with training and wellness presentations as requested.

Responsibilities include data entry, liaison with commanders and POCs, and responding to critical incidents. Travel to various sites may be required; immunization and security clearances may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work from an accredited program.
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license authorizing independent practice.
• Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Technology competency with Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, and telecommunication apps.
• Ability to engage with military members and families and work in varied locations.
• May require immunizations and ability to obtain security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide MFLC services including non-medical, short-term counseling and walk-around support.
• Deliver training and health and wellness presentations as requested.
• Enter counselor activity data daily to ensure accurate reporting while protecting confidentiality.
• Develop professional relationships with unit commanders and designated POCs.
• Respond to critical incidents and provide MFLC support as directed.
• Flex schedule to address urgent requests and travel as needed.
