Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking an embedded Military & Family Life Counselor (Tier 4) to provide non-medical, short-term counseling and consult with military units. The role includes training, crisis response, and coordination with POCs and the Regional Director across installations.

Required are a Master’s in Behavioral Health, an independent license, five years of clinical experience, and ability to work on military bases with sensitivity to service members and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a mental health related field.
• Unrestricted independent counseling license from a state/ DC/ US territory.
• Minimum of five years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Intermediate technology competencies (MS Office, Internet, Smartphone/Tablet apps, video-conferencing).
• Ability to engage with military members and families and respond quickly to emergent situations on a military installation or school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide MFLC services including non-medical, short-term counseling and brief assessments.
• Deliver health and wellness presentations and trainings as requested.
• Coordinate with Regional Supervisors and POC; document activity data daily and ensure confidentiality.
