Job summary

Magellan Health seeks an experienced Military & Family Life Counselor - Embedded to provide non-medical, short-term counseling within a dedicated military unit. The role includes brief counseling, referrals, and follow-up, plus delivering health and wellness trainings and maintaining strict confidentiality.

The position requires a Master's degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work, active independent licensure, and a minimum of five years of post-licensure clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Mental Health related field.
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a State/territory that permits independent practice.
• Minimum of five years of post-licensure clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide MFLC non-medical, short-term counseling at assigned military unit locations.
• Deliver training and health and wellness presentations.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain client confidentiality.
• Develop professional relationships with installation points of contact and unit leadership.
• Respond to critical incidents and surge requests as directed.
• Engage in supervision and participate in program initiatives and pilot activities.
