Job summary

Magellan Health seeks an embedded Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) to provide non-medical, short-term counseling and supportive services to service members and families within assigned military units. You will coordinate with unit leadership, deliver trainings, and maintain confidentiality while documenting activity data for reporting.

The role requires a master’s degree in a mental health field, an independent counseling license, and at least two years of post-licensure clinical

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health related field.
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license to practice as an independent clinician.
• Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software (Microsoft Suite, Internet navigation, smartphones/tablet and apps, video-conferencing).

Responsibilities

• Provide MFLC services including non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling.
• Deliver training and health and wellness presentations to units.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain client confidentiality.
• Develop relationships with unit commanders and POC to ensure program delivery and support.
