Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a founding engineer within Compliance to identify high-value automation opportunities, prototype solutions on Coinbase's AI platform, and drive adoption across the Compliance organization.

You'll embed with leadership and frontline teams, translate regulatory workflows into engineering requirements, and design auditable, human-in-the-loop outputs that regulators can trust.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM-based applications and AI tooling.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory workflows into engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Compliance leadership and frontline teams to surface automation opportunities.
• Prototype quickly using Coinbase's AI platform and guide build-vs-buy decisions.
• Own the Compliance automation roadmap with leadership, translating workflows into engineering needs.
• Ensure outputs are auditable, defeatable to regulators, and human-in-the-loop controlled.
• Drive tool adoption through demos and feedback loops with Compliance teams.
• Maintain strong collaboration between Compliance stakeholders and engineering.
