Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to support the DFR in Shelbyville, IN. You will assist Indiana residents with TANF, SNAP and Medicaid applications, verify information, and enter data into state systems to determine eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment is desired.
• Previous Case Manager/Eligibility Specialist experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs with clients face-to-face or by phone.
• Verify information meets state policies and obtain release forms or medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial documents and review program requirements with clients.
• Utilize automated system to determine eligibility for state assistance programs and enter data.
• Respond to inquiries in a timely manner by phone or email.
