Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 in Round Rock, TX for PRN Days in the Operating Room. The role supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and passing tools to surgeons under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have CST certification and training in sterile technique, with knowledge of infection control and patient safety. This role requires readiness for on-site OR duties and adherence to OR protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as CST by NBSTSA or NCCT or equivalent.
• Maintain knowledge of infection prevention and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the instrument table and surgical supplies.
• Assist with draping and positioning of the patient.
• Pass sterile instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Maintain OR setup based on procedure schedules and counts.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during surgery.
• Disassemble and decontaminate instruments after procedures.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines in the OR.
