Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead power systems for hyperscale data centers across the U.S. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and protective coordination while mentoring teams and ensuring code-compliant deliverables.

You will engage with clients, influence technical strategy, and contribute to industry standards; a hybrid office/remote work model is supported with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree; Master's preferred.
• Active PE licensure in at least one U.S. state; NCEES record for reciprocal licensure.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data center or advanced technology facilities.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator sizing and paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale data center programs; define MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, PDUs, busway; conduct short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow studies.
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, master specs, and calculation libraries for data center practice.
• Provide governance of electrical deliverables; review calculations, drawings, and submittals for code compliance; support commissioning and IST.
