Job summary

Gaylor Electric, Inc. seeks a General Superintendent to lead and oversee multiple electrical construction projects across commercial and industrial sectors in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

You will supervise field supervisors, journeypersons, apprentices, and helpers, ensuring safe installation and timely completion. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, budget control, and coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED completion.
• Four+ years of field supervision/management experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and tech skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise multiple projects and field staff.
• Plan layouts and schedule materials, tools, and equipment.
• Manage on-site construction, trade contractors, and personnel to meet schedule and budget.
• Review project documents, direct construction activities, coordinate installations, and manage close-outs.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
• Collaborate with HR, Estimating, Accounting, Finance, and other staff.
• Interact with owners, owners' representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and others on project activities.
