Job summary

Gaylor Electric, Inc. is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee multiple commercial and industrial electrical projects, leading a 50+ person on-site team and reporting to the Operations Manager.

This role focuses on safe installation, adherence to schedules, and strong client relations. Responsibilities include project planning, on-site management of field personnel, review of plans and specs, and coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful project

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience.
• Experience: 4+ years of field supervision/management experience in electrical projects.
• Specialized skills: strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer/tech proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple projects and on-site field personnel (supervisors, journeypersons, apprentices).
• Plan project work, schedule materials/tools/equipment to meet scope and budgets.
• Manage on-site construction, subcontractors, and field teams to hit timelines and quality standards.
• Review project documents/plans/specifications and coordinate field installations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
• Collaborate with HR, Estimating, Accounting, Finance, and other staff.
• Engage with owners, architects, engineers, and vendors on project activities.
