Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Designer in Atlanta, GA to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects. You will collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-complexity projects and provide engineering solutions and advice to clients.

You will support engineering analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems for buildings while mentoring staff and collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or BIM/Engineering certificate preferred.
• 3 years minimum in building design consulting; 4 preferred.
• 7+ years in building design/consulting or construction acceptable as alternative.
• Proficiency in design techniques, calculations, and code compliance.
• Experience with BIM software and Revit Add-Ins; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of electrical systems with specs and calculations.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress against completion.
• Engage clients to gather requirements and maintain relationships.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Conduct in-process design reviews and apply QA processes.
• Stay current on electrical trends and best practices.
• Prioritize safety and mitigate electrical-system risks.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.
• Oversee bidding and construction administration.
