Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Designer in Atlanta, GA to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects. You will collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-complexity projects and provide engineering solutions and advice to clients.

You will support electrical systems design for buildings, ensuring code compliance, mentoring staff, and coordinating with project managers, architects, and clients across housing, commercial, and retail

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or certificate in BIM/Engineering preferred.
• 3 years of experience minimum, 4 preferred in building design consulting; 7+ years if alternate path.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of electrical systems with detailed designs, specs, and calculations meeting codes and IMEG standards.
• Document client design decisions and monitor progress against budget.
• Engage clients to gather requirements and maintain professional relationships.
• Support project execution through planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Conduct in-process design reviews and apply QA/QC processes.
• Stay current on electrical engineering trends and innovations.
• Prioritize safety and mitigate electrical-system risks.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify risks and oversee bidding and construction administration.
