Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power systems for industrial energy clients, handling concept through commissioning.

You will lead on projects, mentor engineers, and set technical direction for the electrical scope while collaborating with clients and vendors. Location is flexible to hybrid or remote arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting environments.
• Demonstrated experience designing or modifying medium-voltage (1 kV to 38 kV) and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling and study experience in SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel to project sites (approximately 10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead power system analyses, studies, and protective relay coordination.
• Develop, review, and document electrical design deliverables (diagrams, schematics, wiring, and layouts).
• Size and specify MV/LV equipment, transformers, switchgear, and control gear.
• Support field activities, commissioning, and site testing with clients and contractors.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
