Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power systems for industrial energy clients, and carry that work from concept through procurement and commissioning.

You will lead the electrical scope on projects, mentor junior staff, and interact with clients, contractors, and vendors. Hybrid or remote work options are available, with a salary range of $80,000 to $115,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial or consulting environments.
• Experience in MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV distribution design.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain power system models and perform load flow, short-circuit, coordination, arc flash studies.
• Develop protective relay settings and coordination for feeders, transformers, motors, generators, and bus protection.
• Design grounding systems per IEEE 80/81 and ensure NEC/IEEE/ANSI compliance.
• Lead electrical scope on moderate to large projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors and participate in design reviews and safety reviews.
