Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team. The role focuses on design, analysis, and upgrades of medium- and low-voltage power distribution for industrial clients, from concept through commissioning.

The successful candidate will lead electrical scope on projects, develop protective settings, and mentor engineers while collaborating with clients, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting environments.
• Experience designing/modifying medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain power system models from field data and drawings; perform load flow, short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, harmonic studies.
• Develop protective relay settings and coordination; produce settings files and test plans.
• Design and review electrical drawings (one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams).
• Size, rate, and specify equipment and conductors; ensure NEC/NFPA/IEEE compliance.
• Lead electrical scope on medium-to-large projects and mentor junior staff.
