Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power systems for industrial clients. You’ll lead electrical scope on projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with multiple disciplines through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in an industrial, utility, or consulting environment.
• Demonstrated experience designing or modifying medium-voltage (1 kV to 38 kV) and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling and study experience in SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards for industrial power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope on moderate to large projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Design and review power distribution systems, switchgear, and controls.
• Develop and review electrical design deliverables (diagrams, schematics, layouts).
• Perform field investigations, site surveys, and construction support.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and interface with clients and vendors.
