Job summary

Vertex Companies, LLC seeks an Electrical Forensic Engineer to investigate electrical system failures across residential, commercial, industrial, and utility equipment. You will perform field inspections, analyze evidence, and prepare technical reports for clients, insurers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Requirements: bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience and an EIT certification; a PE license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience; or advanced degree without experience; or 5 years of related work experience and no degree.
  • EIT certification required.
  • PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations involving electrical system failures, fires, explosions, equipment damage, and power distribution issues.
  • Perform site inspections to document conditions and collect evidence.
  • Analyze data to determine cause and origin of failures; develop engineering opinions.
  • Prepare clear technical reports summarizing findings for clients and stakeholders.
  • Review electrical drawings, maintenance records, and incident reports.
