Job summary

Vertex is seeking an Electrical Forensic Engineer to investigate electrical system failures across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will perform field inspections, analyze evidence, and prepare technical reports for clients, carriers, and attorneys.

The role combines engineering, field work, and investigative analysis, ideal for curious, detail-oriented individuals with a passion for root cause understanding and impactful findings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field.
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations of electrical system failures, fires, and equipment damage.
  • Perform site inspections, document conditions, and collect evidence.
  • Analyze data and prepare technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop engineering opinions with standards and best practices.
  • Support litigation with exhibits and expert analyses as needed.
  • Coordinate with clients, carriers, attorneys, and contractors throughout investigations.
