Vertex is seeking an Electrical Forensic Engineer to investigate electrical system failures across residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-related equipment. You will conduct field inspections, analyze evidence, and prepare technical reports for clients, insurers, and attorneys.

This role blends engineering, fieldwork, and investigative analysis. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience (or an advanced degree with no experience), and an EIT

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree with no experience, or 5+ years with no degree.
  • EIT certification is required.
  • PE license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations of electrical system failures and related incidents.
  • Perform site inspections and collect evidence.
  • Analyze evidence and engineering data to determine root cause.
  • Develop engineering opinions with analysis and standards.
  • Prepare clear technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with clients, carriers, attorneys, and contractors.
  • Travel to loss sites and client locations as needed.
  • Assist with litigation support and exhibits.
