Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support engineering and design duties for substation projects. Tasks include creating wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and design documents under supervision.

Responsibilities include relay burden calculations, load flow and short circuit studies, and applying industry standards. Opportunity to gain hands-on site experience and learn corporate engineering practices while traveling to project sites

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with power focus preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals and three-phase power systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong analytical skills.
• Good communication, verbal and written, and proficiency with standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for substation projects under senior engineer supervision.
• Perform engineering calculations: relay burden, load flow, short circuit, ground grid design, and transformer sizing.
• Apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards on projects.
• Learn and use the document management system and corporate engineering practices.
• Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge of substation construction and design.
• Travel to project sites as required and complete assigned tasks.
