Job summary

Dashiell, a Quanta Services unit, seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to substation design and engineering tasks under close supervision. You will develop wiring diagrams, BOMs, and gain hands-on field experience, while applying NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards in a collaborative project team.

This internship emphasizes growth in electrical engineering fundamentals, system studies, and practical field knowledge, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; power focus preferred.
• Prior internship in the power field is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals.
• Knowledge of three-phase power systems.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with common word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.

Responsibilities

• Create wiring diagrams from schematics and generate bills of materials under supervision.
• Perform relay burden, load flow, short-circuit calculations under direct supervision.
• Learn and apply engineering software for ground grid design and coordination tasks under supervision.
• Complete tasks to meet project schedule requirements.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge of substation design.
