Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineer for our Riverside, CA office. You will design electrical systems for diverse building projects and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from planning through construction.

The role emphasizes coordination with architects and engineers, adherence to NEC/CA codes, and producing construction documents while supporting project delivery and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3-5 years of electrical design experience for building systems.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial/institutional facilities.
• Working knowledge of NEC and California Building Code; proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Support design of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and telecom.
• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and layouts under supervision.
• Prepare construction documents: plans, specs, schedules, and reports.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architects, mechanical, and structural engineers.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
• Assist with technical studies and project documentation.
• Support PMs with scope, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals during construction.
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical input.
• Ensure designs meet codes and client requirements.
