Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineer for our Riverside, CA office. You will contribute to the Property & Buildings Team, delivering electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects from planning through construction.

You will work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, applying strong technical foundations, collaboration, and a client-focused approach to meet objectives and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant electrical design experience for building systems.
• EIT certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, or similar facilities.
• Working knowledge of NEC and California Building Code.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple assignments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Uphold safety policies and company conduct.

Responsibilities

• Support design of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and telecom.
• Perform calculations, analyses, and layouts under senior engineer guidance.
• Develop construction documents with plans, specs, schedules, and reports.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architects, mechanical, and structural teams.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and condition assessments as needed.
• Assist with technical studies, engineering reports, and project documentation.
• Support project managers with scope development, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contractor documents during construction.
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical input throughout execution.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and client requirements; deliver on schedule and budget.
