Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Sales Manager in Missouri to drive sales and gross margin budgets across the district and lead a team of seven to ten sales reps. You will guide strategic plans for Construction, Communication, Industrial, Utility, and CIG markets while developing business plans with strategic suppliers.

You will coach reps, manage budgets, analyze market trends, and maintain key customer relationships, with a focus on recruiting, staffing, development, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• 9 years’ experience in business or wholesale distribution; 13 years preferred
• High school diploma or GED; a four-year degree preferred
• Knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and customers
• Knowledge of the applicable specialty business (vertical market)
• Knowledge of financial analysis methods
• Leadership and supervisory skills
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers

Responsibilities

• Develop business plans that support the assigned specialty market and territory
• Implement sales management processes with reps and sales staff
• Evaluate industry trends and identify opportunities and threats
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers
• Ensure recruiting, staffing, development, performance management, and succession planning in the district
• Assist in tools and training programs to support growth
