Job summary

EPB in Chattanooga is seeking a Billing Services Representative to ensure timely and accurate customer billing. You will edit accounts, review interval data, discuss billing questions with customers, and run special programs like Budget Billing and Prepaid Metering.

The role may require back-up coverage for 1st shift operations. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and 3–5 years in billing or customer service, strong math and PC skills, and familiarity with billing systems such as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of customer service or billing experience.
• Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet software and email.
• Advanced math skills with proficient calculator operation.

Responsibilities

• Edit customer accounts for reading and work order errors.
• Retrieve and review Tantalus interval data/reads for missing or questionable reads.
• Analyze data and discuss it with customers intelligently.
• Enter work orders for investigations as needed.
• Contact customers by phone to discuss billing questions.
• Manage special billing programs (Budget Billing, Levelized, Prepaid, ACH, Flats, Landlord, Outdoor Lights).
• Enter adjustments on accounts for errors and misreads.
• Review and update customers' tax status.
• Back up for 1st Shift Operations as needed.
