Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an IT Support Specialist to manage the technology help desk, support staff and students across the district, and maintain computer labs and devices. You will configure A/V gear, support classroom technology, and lead trainings to improve technology use across schools.

The role requires strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with a focus on security and effective IT services in a district setting. Evening or weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; higher degree preferred.
• A+ or similar certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, iPads and Chromebooks.
• Strong knowledge of Office, Google Workspace, SIS, LMS, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the technology help desk with ticketing and documentation.
• Provide IT and A/V support across the district.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for staff and students.
• Configure and maintain workstations, labs, and mobile devices.
• Set up classroom technology including displays, projectors, and A/V gear.
• Conduct formal and informal tech training for staff and students.
• Support professional development on technology use.
• Oversee installation and monitoring of district software.
• Monitor cybersecurity concerns and report threats.
• Support the district phone system and cabling for IT/A/V systems.
• Attend department and district meetings; maintain confidentiality.
• Stay updated on new technology and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
