Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Editorial Services Manager to lead a team of editors, oversee production workflows, and ensure accuracy and security of assessment materials in the United States. You will manage capacity, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and uphold high editorial standards while delivering on schedule.

The role emphasizes training, process improvements, and collaboration with content developers, psychometrics, and publishing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, education, publishing, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Five+ years in editorial, assessment, publishing, or related environment.
• Three+ years leading editors or cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing multiple complex deliverables with tight timelines.
• Strong ability to interpret style guides, client requirements, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors including assignments, performance feedback, onboarding, training, and development.
• Oversee editorial and production workflows for exams, study guides, practice materials, item banks, and related deliverables.
• Plan team capacity, prioritize deliverables, and monitor schedules across programs and projects.
• Ensure work follows client requirements, style guides, accessibility expectations, quality standards, and security protocols.
• Partner with content developers, assessment specialists, psychometricians, project managers, publishing teams, and client-facing groups to clarify requirements.
• Review project status, identify risks, escalate issues, and implement mitigation plans to protect schedules and quality.
• Support quality control: proofreading, copyediting, metadata review, item accounting checks, formatting validation, final production review.
