Job summary

Pearson in the United States is seeking an Editorial Services Manager to lead a editors team across production, quality control, and publication of assessment exams. You will supervise workstreams, align with cross-functional partners, and ensure timely, accurate delivery of materials.

You will guide editors, plan capacity, enforce standards, and drive process improvements while maintaining security and accessibility requirements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, education, publishing, communications, assessment, or related field.
• Five+ years of experience in editorial, assessment, publishing, production, or educational content.
• Three+ years leading, supervising, or coordinating editors or cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing multiple complex deliverables with competing timelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMS or publishing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors including assignments, performance feedback, onboarding, training, and development.
• Oversee editorial and production workflows for exams, study guides, practice materials, item banks, and deliverables.
• Plan team capacity, prioritize deliverables, and monitor schedules across programs.
• Ensure output follows client requirements, style guides, accessibility, quality standards, and security protocols.
• Collaborate with content developers, psychometrics, project managers, and publishing teams to clarify requirements.
• Review project status, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to protect schedules and quality.
• Support quality control activities including proofreading, copyediting, metadata review, item accounting checks, formatting validation, and final production review.
• Maintain and improve procedures, templates, tracking tools, and logs for consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze workflow data and defects to drive process improvements and strengthen performance.
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on accuracy and service to educators and learners.
