Job summary

Pearson seeks a Manager, Content Developer to lead editors and oversee production of assessment materials in the United States. You will coach staff, manage workflows, ensure quality, security, and timeliness, and coordinate across content development, psychometrics, publishing, and client-facing teams.

You will manage overlapping projects, receive training and resources, and operate with a professional, flexible schedule with core hours. This role aligns to the Editorial Services Manager title.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five or more years of experience in editorial, assessment, publishing, production, educational content, or related environment.
• Three or more years of experience leading editors, technicians, production staff, or cross-functional project teams.
• Experience managing multiple complex deliverables with competing timelines and quality requirements.
• Ability to interpret and apply style guides, client requirements, process documentation, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors including assignments, performance feedback, onboarding, training, and professional development.
• Oversee editorial and production workflows for teacher assessment exams, study guides, practice materials, item banks, and related deliverables.
• Plan team capacity, prioritize competing deliverables, and monitor schedules for multiple programs and projects.
• Ensure editorial and production work follows client requirements, style guides, accessibility, quality, and security standards.
• Partner with content developers, assessment specialists, psychometricians, project managers, publishing teams, and client-facing groups to clarify requirements and resolve questions or blockers.
• Review project status, identify risks, elevate issues, and implement mitigation plans to protect schedules and deliverable quality.
• Support quality control activities including proofreading, copyediting, metadata review, item accounting checks, formatting validation, and final production review.
• Maintain and improve documented procedures, templates, tracking tools, and job logs.
• Analyze workflow data, recurring defects, and feedback to recommend process improvements and strengthen team performance.
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and service to educators and learners.
