Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Manager, Content Developer in the United States to lead editors, coordinate production of assessment exams, and ensure accuracy, security, and standards alignment.

You will manage day-to-day people leadership, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration with content developers, psychometrics, assessment services, publishing, and client teams. The role emphasizes timely delivery and process improvement with a traditional schedule but core hours and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, education, publishing, communications, assessment, instructional content, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in editorial, assessment, publishing, production, educational content, or related environment.
• Three or more years of experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or coordinating editors or cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing multiple complex deliverables with competing timelines and quality requirements.
• Ability to interpret style guides, client requirements, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors including work assignments, performance feedback, onboarding, training, and professional development.
• Oversee editorial and production workflows for teacher assessment exams, study guides, practice materials, item banks, and related deliverables.
• Plan team capacity, prioritize competing deliverables, and monitor schedules to ensure accurate, timely completion of work.
• Ensure work follows client requirements, style guides, accessibility expectations, quality standards, and security protocols.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve questions or blockers.
• Review project status, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to protect schedules and quality.
• Support quality control activities including proofreading, copyediting, metadata review, and final production review.
• Maintain and improve procedures, templates, tracking tools, and logs for consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Analyze workflow data and defects to recommend process improvements and strengthen team performance.
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on accuracy and service to educators and learners.
