Job summary

Pearson in the United States is seeking an Editorial Services Manager to lead a team of editors responsible for development, production, quality control and publication of assessment exams. The role emphasizes meeting schedules, maintaining standards, and collaborating across a broad range of content and client-facing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, education, publishing, communications, assessment, instructional content, or related field.
• Five+ years in editorial, assessment, publishing, production, or related environment.
• Three+ years leading editors or cross-functional teams.
• Experience with high-stakes assessment or item banking preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools; CMS or publishing platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors, including assignments, onboarding, and development.
• Oversee editorial and production workflows for teacher assessment exams and related materials.
• Plan team capacity and monitor schedules across programs.
• Ensure work follows client requirements, style guides, accessibility, quality, and security.
• Partner with content developers, psychometrics, project managers and teams to resolve blockers.
• Review project status, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
• Support quality control activities including proofreading and metadata review.
• Maintain procedures, templates, tools, and logs.
• Analyze workflow data to recommend process improvements.
• Promote collaborative, inclusive culture focused on accuracy and accountability.
