Job summary

State of West Virginia – Bureau of Family Assistance is seeking a training role to learn processing of benefit applications. You will determine eligibility for SNAP and Medicaid programs, manage a caseload, and learn to use department software to serve a demanding client base.

Under supervision, you will conduct client interviews, analyze financial and social information, and learn to adhere to complex policies. A valid driver's license may be required and state benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Interviews with clients conducted under supervision
• Experience evaluating data against standards and guidelines
• Substitution: coursework may substitute for experience

Responsibilities

• Learn to process benefit applications and determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers
• Manage a caseload for economic assistance under close supervision
• Learn to use department software and adhere to complex eligibility policies
• Conduct client interviews and analyze financial and social information
• May retain repayment for erroneous issuances; perform related work as required
