Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Human Services is seeking a position to process applications, determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, and other programs, and oversee a caseload of clients. Under general supervision, you will schedule interviews by phone and in person, conduct interviews, collect financial and personal information, and refer clients to supportive services as needed.

Mandatory overtime may be required. A valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Overtime may be required.
• Experience in Economic Services work may substitute for training.

Responsibilities

• Process applications and determine eligibility for economic assistance programs.
• Schedule telephone and face-to-face interviews.
• Conduct personal interviews to collect financial and social information.
• Maintain an up-to-date client caseload and refer clients to supportive services.
• May obtain repayment from clients who have been issued benefits erroneously.
