Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Human Services seeks a dedicated professional to process applications and determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, and other economic assistance programs within the Bureau of Family Assistance. You will schedule and conduct client interviews, review information, and maintain an accurate caseload.

Responsibilities include referring clients to supportive services, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and handling potential repayment for erroneously issued benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution rules may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience in Economic Services work may substitute for the required training at the rate of one year of experience equals two years of training.
• A valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Process applications and determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, and other economic assistance programs.
• Maintain an up-to-date client caseload and schedule interviews (phone or face-to-face).
• Conduct personal interviews with clients and gather financial and social information.
• Refer clients to supportive services and agencies as needed.
• May obtain repayment from clients for benefits issued erroneously.
