Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement care plans, educate patients and families, and document patient progress. You will work under a PT plan of care and adjust treatments based on patient response, while maintaining accurate daily notes in the EMR.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant, an active PTA license, BLS, and board eligibility for ongoing credentialing, including compliance with DNV Hip and Knee programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree; Field of Study: Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) per IDFPR; BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Board Eligible to complete board exam and required continuing education for acute stroke patient care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with documentation.
• Produces documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy and daily notes.
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Performs treatments: therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Documents daily therapy sessions and medication charging in EMR; coordinates with PT and referring providers.
