Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care developed by the physical therapist, serving patients of all ages and acting as a clinical resource for staff and students.

The PTA will educate patients and families, follow the plan of care, adjust treatments based on patient response, and document progress in daily notes while performing therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) per IDFPR requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Board eligible or completed board exam for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers and students with effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and documents communications in daily notes.
• Performs therapeutic interventions including gait, balance, ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Provides aquatic therapy and coordinates with the PT on treatment interventions.
• Completes daily documentation and supports the DNV Hip/Knee program requirements where applicable.
