Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement plan of care designed by a physical therapist and to support patients of all ages in a hospital setting.

The PTA will educate patients and families, document daily notes, and cooperate with the PT and care team to adjust treatments based on patient response and evidence. A BLS certification and ongoing CEUs are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant with state licensure or eligibility.
• Active PTA license/eligibility in the state as applicable.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; continuing education per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and documents communications in the daily note.
• Performs therapeutic interventions including gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation.
• Administers aquatic therapy when appropriate and completes daily documentation in therapy EMR.
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicates progress to referring providers.
