Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a physical therapist. The role focuses on educating patients and families, following the treatment plan, and documenting activities per policy while contributing to a high-quality rehabilitation program.

The position requires an Associate's Degree and PTA credential with continued education to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed PTA in good standing or eligible in the applicable state.
• Willingness to adhere to clinical documentation policies and CE requirements.
• Ability to educate patients and families using appropriate teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response after communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education as assigned to comply with program requirements.
• Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicates progress to referring providers.
