Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. is hiring an Outside Sales Representative in Eastern Idaho to manage relationships with customers on residential, multi-family and commercial projects. You will gather client requirements, coordinate with internal design staff, and develop sales proposals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field and at least two years of sales experience. Expect field travel, customer meetings, and opportunities to train and mentor newer sales staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field.
• Two years of prior sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, and acting as a liaison between inside technical/design staff and customer in developing sales proposals.
• Develops sales contracts for residential, multi-family and commercial projects by collecting specification information from the client’s engineer or architect and conveying needs to technical staff and management.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers, designs demonstrations of products/services and explains how they meet customer needs.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers, generating opportunities through market research and product demonstrations.
• Continuously updates customers on products and services and explains how they meet current or future requirements.
• Participates in leadership roles, such as chairing meetings and training less experienced staff.
• May provide training to less experienced Outside Sales Reps.
• Prepares recurring and special reports for management as required.
• Attends company training programs to expand product knowledge and sales techniques.
• Plans and prioritizes work to meet daily and project productivity goals.
• Observes safety procedures and participates in safety meetings.
