Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide protection at Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. The role is part of a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may include on-call work outside normal hours.

Training includes a 10-day consecutive program in Kotzebue, AK with lodging and transportation provided for new hires. The position requires alertness to safety, the ability to de-escalate situations, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and pay license fee.
• English language proficiency required.
• Able to stand 8–12 hours per shift.
• On-call availability and outside-hours work may be required.
• Safety oriented and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly.
• Ensure safety and compliance in all actions.
• De-escalate situations to protect employees, customers, and clients.
• Check doors, windows, and areas for security.
• Document incidents per company policies.
• Assist with events, setup, and clinic functions.
• Notify supervisors of visitors and security concerns.
• Respond to emergencies to protect life and property.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• May operate safety and life-support systems.
