Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer to provide safety and security at Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. This is a 1 week on / 1 week off rotation with on-call duties outside normal hours.

The position requires a 10-day training in Kotzebue, AK, with lodging and travel provided. You will monitor areas, de-escalate incidents, and respond to emergencies while ensuring policy compliance and staff safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Pass Alaska background check and obtain Alaska Guard License fee of $97 before starting.
• Cooperate and work as part of a team with staff, customers, and clients.
• Make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Able to stand 8–12 hours per shift.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Safety oriented and follow all safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas by visual, electronic, or audible means.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Inspect doors and windows to ensure security.
• Report incidents and property damage per policies.
• Assist in events, setup, and clinic preparations.
• Respond to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• May work on-call outside normal hours as scheduled.
