Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Direct Support Professional V for the Corpus Christi area. This role supervises DSP staff on state-supported living centers, manages shift coverage, and ensures developmentally disabled individuals receive high‑quality, person‑centered care.

You will lead teams, monitor compliance with programs, and support program plans, including crisis intervention and documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in critical incidents.
• Ability to work effectively with others and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may work a specific or rotating shift schedule.
• Oversees daily operations and delivery of quality programs on the assigned home.
• Leads, trains, and supervises DSP staff; ensures training and time entry accuracy in CAPPS.
• Coaches staff, conducts performance evaluations, and supports staff development.
• Ensures care plans are implemented and documented, and that safety and behavioral plans are followed.

Education

High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Two years’ experience working with people with developmental or physical disabilities
